Q: How can I turn off Internet Explorer’s AutoComplete feature for Web-based forms?
A: This is a relatively simple configuration change.
Just click the Tools menu, Internet Options, and then the Content tab.
Under Personal Information, click the AutoComplete button.
In the resulting dialog box, you have three options associated with AutoComplete.
To remove only the stored passwords, click the Clear Passwords button.
If you want to remove all AutoComplete entries from IE, click the Clear Forms button.
The latter will only eliminate the words and numbers you’ve entered in IE in the past; the program will continue to collect and remember the things you type in the future.
To completely turn off the AutoComplete feature, just deselect the Web Addresses, Forms, and User Names And Passwords On Forms checkboxes.
Click OK to save your changes and close the dialog boxes.
